    Cold Forming Technology

New DMI (Die Match Indicator) increases die life

   on thread rolling machines

A perfect match of the two thread rolling dies can increase the useable life of a set of

dies significantly. Our improved DMI (Die Match Indicator) technique tells the operator

exactly, in which direction he needs to correct die match in order to obtain a perfect

match. The rolling dies are adjusted much quicker, more precisely and more

repeatable. By applying our new hybrid sensing technology (patent pending) to thread

rolling machines, even very small deviations form the optimum die set-up are made

clearly visible. If the machineis equipped with the proper mechanical features, the die

matching procedure can even be partly automated..

New Mandon-technology premieres at WIRE 2010.
Rising confidence in future business development and an increase in capital expenditure

plans describe the current views of the cold forming industry expressed during WIRE 2010,

which venued from April 12 - 16,2010 in Düsseldorf. From that point, this most important

international meeting of the industry was taking place just at the right time, as visitors and

    exhibitors alike pointed out.

So it came not as a suprise that the many new products and developments presented

by Schwer + Kopka sparked an enormous amount of interest amongst the industry experts

visiting our stand. Whether it was about the new Mandon-technology or the entirely new

range of process monitors, whether the interest was on our new job scheduling package

or about the Hybrid sensors permitting press alignment checks, we were extremely

pleased with the many discussions we had including the start-up of a number of major

    projects.

    Stamping: press monitoring

New: measuring ram acceleration protects machine and tooling

The ever increasing use of high-tensile materials on stamping machines is adding

enormous strain and stress to both, machine and tooling, such that major defects are

occurring rather frequently. These defects reach from complete tool failures up to severe

machine damages such as cracked frames, even if the presses were fitted with pierce

    shock dampening systems.

Our new acceleration measuring system records the actual stress on the machine

components and alerts the operator if the g-forces are reaching critical values.

Production Job Scheduler assists with your fine planning
The SK-go!® job scheduler is an efficient tool for the fine planning of your jobs. A visual

machine loading chart and a capacity chart show you at a glance, how occupied  your

machines currently are. If you're about to miss a delivery deadline, the respective job is

marked in red. If needed, you can easily move jobs from one machine to another

by using our comfortable Drag&Drop tool.

    Assembling technology

Clinch process monitor also measures "resulting bottom
   thickness"

Clinchdots today are widely used to produce firm joints between different sheet metals
    e. g. in the automotive or white goods industry. Measuring the force vs. travel signal is the
only  proven method to monitor the quality of the clinching process.

Our monitoring system SK 100 is now capable to measure, monitor and document  the
resulting bottom thickness which is the most important criteria for the proper strength of
    the clinch joint.
